Rector
Phaedra Kay Pamphilon-Green

Phaedra trained as a Reader in 1998. Whilst in Ethiopia with Christian Aid she realised full-time ministry was calling her and was Commissioned as a Church Army Evangelist in 2007. Her first post was as a Hospital Chaplain, where she began a Masters in Pastoral Theology. She was ordained at Lincoln Cathedral in 2014.

Phaedra is married to Antony; they have 3 children, Joshua, Harriet and Oliver. Josh is married to Caroline. Harriet is married to Pete and they have a little girl called Jemima. Oliver and his fiancée Ellie both live at the Rectory.

Phaedra, who likes to be known as Phe, Antony, Ollie and Ellie are all looking forward to being part of St Mary’s and Stoke D’Abernon.


Associate Minister
Mary-Beth Hawrish

Mary-Beth was ordained in 2009 and began ministry in St Andrew’s, Oxshott. For eight years, she served as curate and then associate minister at St Andrew’s, Oxshott, where she did her ministerial training. She subsequently served as a vicar in Hampshire and joined St.Mary’s in 2020.

Previously she worked as a lawyer in the City of London, as a media journalist and in various roles in Church communications, both in her native Canada and the UK. 

Mary-Beth is married to Len and has a daughter and son-in-law.


William Fellows

William is one of our Church Wardens, appointed at the ACPM in 2024.  He and his wife Jenny have lived in Cobham for the past 8 years, moving from Oxshott where they had their family home for 40 years.  They have three grown-up children, a lawyer, a chartered surveyor and a doctor.  All are married and William and Jenny have 9 grandchildren.

Although now mainly retired, William maintains an interest in a property investment company which he set up and has run for many years.  They have been regular worshippers at St Mary’s since 2022, and enjoy the traditional services with beautiful music.  Having been a keen singer all his life, William has participated in many local choral societies and choirs over the years and is now a member of the Parish Choir.  He enjoys a game of golf and is an experienced offshore yachtsman.


Claire King

Claire was elected to the PCC of St Mary’s in 2024 and as Church Warden in April 2025, having served for several years on the PCC of St Andrew’s, Oxshott. She and her husband Malcolm have lived in Stoke D’Abernon for 48 years and worshipped at St Mary’s since 2020. They have 3 grown-up children each with their own families.

Until retirement, Claire worked freelance as a food scientist and as Director/Company Secretary to Malcolm’s Cobham-based geophysical consultancy. She is a keen gardener and choral singer and loves the strong musical traditions of St Mary’s. Claire and Malcolm, together, enjoy holidays skiing, hill walking in the Lake District and exploring the delights of the French countryside.


Matthew Brown

Matthew is our Organist and Director of Music.

He graduated with a first-class honours degree from the University of Bristol specializing in the organ and the harpsichord. Whilst he was at Bristol he was an Organ Scholar at St Mary Redcliffe Parish Church which prides itself on its high-quality music programme. As Organ Scholar Matthew was responsible for playing for services and rehearsing and conducting the choir, in particular coaching the boys and girls choirs.

He founded the Queenes Chappell a young professional solo voice consort.

Matthew is excited to work with and help develop our choir which will be one of his focus areas.
